American Sports Broadcaster and Talk Show Host Jorge Sedano (pronounced like "George") (born in New York, New York) is the host of The Jorge Sedano Show on 790 The Ticket which airs from 6am-10am ET.[1]. He's also currently a sports anchor at CBS4 WFOR-TV in Miami. He's also a contributor for the Miami Herald online Sports section. Sedano can also be seen during the Miami HEAT season as a contributor on SUN SPORTS.
Jorge was born in New York and raised in Miami,Florida. He attended Monsignor Edward Pace High School and Florida International University and currently resides in Miami, Florida.Jorge hates to admit it now, but he got his on-air start hosting a show about pro wrestling. His show on WAXY is called "The Jorge Sedano Show," which airs on 790 The Ticket in Miami. While at The Ticket he's hosted several different slots. Two Midday slots 10am-1pm (where he once beat South Florida ratings king Neil Rogers) and Noon - 3pm. He is currently the morning show host (since 2009), which airs weekday mornings from 6am-10am.
Jorge most recently, hosted a daily show on Fox Sports Radio Network (FSR) from July 2004 through September 2007 called The Third Shift on Fox. At that time he was known as, "The Dean," of late night Sports Talk. As his was the most cleared show in syndicated sports radio at that time. While, working his daily show for WAXY in Miami he hosted a weekly show that aired Sunday evenings 8pm-11pm ET / 5pm-8pm PT for Fox Sports Radio. As of January 2009 he no longer works for Fox Sports Radio Network.
Sedano was also, a radio broadcaster for the Miami Heat. He was the Pre and Post Game broadcaster for their basketball games on WIOD between 2004 and 2007. In 2004, Sedano was nominated and was a finalist for the Florida Associated Press Radio Sportscaster of the Year Award.
Jorge is a big fan of The Miami Dolphins, Dan Marino, the Miami Heat, the Florida Marlins, the New York Yankees, and Miami sports in general. Jorge began his career on the radio in Miami in 1999. He worked at WAFN as a midday host, then later in his career (2001–2004) at WRFX as their afternoon drive host .
In August, it was announced that Jorge Sedano will be paired with Jeremy Marks-Peltz on the 2009 FIU Football Broadcasts that will air on 790 The Ticket. Jorge will serve as the color analyst in the booth. While, Marks-Peltz will be the play by play voice. Jorge is the first Cuban American football analyst in history. Jorge served on the Florida International University Football Broadcasts for the 2009 & 2010 seasons.
Jorge in November 2010 has been added as a third sports anchor for WFOR-TV. His duties will mainly be as a substitute sports anchor for the station.
He also serves as a contributor for the Miami Herald Sports Section and SUN SPORTS Miami HEAT Broadcasts.
